OptiPowder C715 (CuNi 70/30)

Continuum OptiPowders are produced by our proprietary Greyhound Melt-to-Powder (M2P) system. This advanced plasma-based atomization process transforms reclaimed aerospace-grade feedstock into high-purity, spherical powder in a single step. By utilizing 100% reclaimed materials and green energy sources, this process significantly reduces environmental impact while delivering consistent flowability and exceptional material performance.

Material Overview

OptiPowder C715 is a high-conductivity copper-nickel (CuNi 70/30) alloy powder engineered for excellent strength, ductility, fabricability, and thermal and electrical conductivity in demanding environments. Its balanced composition provides superior resistance to general corrosion and stress-corrosion cracking in seawater and brackish water, as well as strong performance in high-salinity, high-temperature, and high-velocity turbulent conditions.

Designed for marine, energy, and industrial applications, C715 is well suited for components exposed to aggressive fluid environments, including seawater piping, heat exchangers, cooling systems, and other critical hardware where both durability and conductivity are required. OptiPowder C715 supports additive manufacturing, thermal spray, and other advanced forming technologies that demand reliable, production-grade powder.

Key Benefits of OptiPowder C715

Superior Corrosion Resistance: Outstanding durability in seawater, brackish, and other corrosive environments
Excellent Thermal & Electrical Conductivity: Maintains conductivity while providing robust mechanical strength
Stable Mechanical Properties: Performs consistently across a broad operating temperature range
Proven Process Compatibility: Suitable for LPBF, BJT, HIP, DED, and thermal spray applications
Erosion Resistance: Strong resistance to high-velocity turbulent water containing silt and bubbles
Sustainability Focused: Produced from reclaimed feedstock under Continuum’s OptiVantage quality framework
